Reiki Practitioner Uses Gift to Facilitate Healing

Glastonbury, CT resident Barbara Saccardo has an unusual gift.

“She definitely has the touch,” Senior Center Assistant Program Coordinator, Norma Carey said, after a recent visit by the Reiki Master and practioner.

Saccardo visited the Senior Center in July and August to administer Reiki healing  to seniors in the center’s health room.

According to Carey,  seniors were initially apprehensive about the unusual technique in which the healer places hands upon certain regions of the body in order to remove the blockages of vital “life force energy.”

Their apprehension soon disappeared.

“The seniors’ responses were phenomenal,” commented Saccardo. “One woman was so pleased and enthusiastic that she asked how she herself, could learn Reiki.”

According to Carey, many of the seniors reported being able to feel the warm, healing energy of Reiki as it penetrated deep within: “Your hands are hot!”

“I’ve always known I’d been blessed with a gift, ” Saccardo remarked. “Once I’d discovered Reiki, I knew it was for me!”

The essence of this healing energy derives from Spirit, and is channeled through Barbara Saccardo’s hands thus removing and manipulating her client’s blockages. It is through this energy evoked from Spirit that brings comfort and healing to those in need.

Ms. Saccardo’s career began in 2008 as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital. She offered Reiki treatments to seniors suffering from symptoms of ageing, cancer, and a variety of maladies.

“Clients often feel a range of sensations such as tingling and heat. When a cold sensation is experienced, it is an indicator of the systemic imbalances and/or blockages beeing released.  After a Reiki treatment, my clients report feeling energized, relaxed and even lighter in spirit,” Saccardo explains.

According to the International Center for Reiki Training, ” Reiki is an effective treatment to augment traditional tyes of medical treatment and medication.
